I just gave my wife a gardener shed for mother’s day from BackyardBuildings.com as a way of getting some of the clutter you talk about out of the house – They came and installed it and everything… easy peasy As payback on father’s day she returned the favor by getting me a playset fort type for the kids – the trick was that I had to assemble it myself, spending a whole weekend with a drill in my hand and carrying lumber as my two daughters could not wait for it to be done.So I am done with garden gifts.

Another really nice gift that’s along the same lines is an indoor herb garden. Usually you can buy these inside a big bowl and place it in front of your window, water it and allow lots of sun, then presto – you’ll get lots of yummy herbs to enjoy in your recipes!

My husband loves gardening and so it is a theme that he gets a bit of gardening gear for birthdays and christmas but it is really nice shopping for these things, walking round the garden centres and picking something out, its a lot nicer than high street shopping!

As much as it sounds tacky, giving some quality garden tools to someone who spends time in the garden is a good idea. It takes thought to give something like that and a gardener will appreciate you taking the time to think that kind of gift out.
